Across the globe, Christmas has always been the time of giving. Because the Philippines has always celebrated Christmas unlike any other, Mang Inasal decided to take their Christmas celebrations to the next level not just by giving back to its customers, but by filling it with one surprise after the other.
#PaskoSorpresa is a Christmas initiative wherein we collaborated with Gawad Kalinga Tatalon Performing Arts and surprised them with a voice workshop conducted by one of the country’s renowned voice coach. It doesn’t stop there. They’re rehearsing so they themselves can surprise and give back to the community by gifting them with a performance.
One day in one of the Mang Inasal branches, the customers dined in like any other day, little did they know that they are in for a treat. The choir suddenly breaks into a song, singing a series of Filipino Christmas carols in acapella. To complete the surprise, Angel Locsin, one of the Philippines’ most famous soap opera actress, enters the restaurant to greet everyone a merry Christmas.
We recorded the surprise and posted the video online, which garnered 100,000 views on its first day of posting and hit 500,000 a couple of days after.

Malou: The name of our group is Gawad Kalinga Tatalon Performing Arts. We were inspired to start this because when Gawad Kalinga entered our community, our primary objective was to give the youth dreams.
Robert: They were never really given the blessing to develop their talent in singing, but now they experienced this recording.
