My Dog is a School Boy

“Who takes care of your dog when you travel?”

I travel a lot, both for work and leisure, and this is probably the most common question I encounter whenever we talk about the trips I go to.

Not having a child of my own, my dog Chandler is the closest I have to that. Yup, I’m one of those pawrents. 

And just like any parent would do, I make sure Chandler is taken cared of when I go overseas.

Thank God I found the perfect one.

Doggie Retreat is a cage-free daycare/boarding place by definition, but if my dog could talk, he would tell you that it’s his most favorite place on earth (sometimes more than our own home)!

Here’s why:

He rides the Doggie School Bus

Okay, you’ve got to admit that this is just the cutest.

More than the convenience that they pick up your furkid and bring him/her back home, this tells me just how fun it is there.

They have the nicest drivers as well!

Chandler goes to Doggie Retreat for daycare too and I love how he gets to go out on walkies while I’m in the office. It’s way better than him being home alone the whole day.

He gets all access to outdoor and indoor garden

Doggie Retreat has a garden with artificial grass, which to me is way more hygienic and safe to be free from bugs and mites. The team disinfects the area daily.

He’s comfortable inside the house

After the doggos go on walkies, they hang out at Doggie Retreat to rest (and of course play.)

He takes comfortable naps (once he finally gets tired from playing)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They genuinely love and care for the dogs

One of the many reasons why I chose Doggie Retreat to look after Chandler is that I know they love him as much as I do. Esther (momager of Doggie Retreat), and every single member of the team, genuinely cares for all the doggos.

There was one particular time when Chandler had a severe spine and joint injury and I had to go overseas for a Church conference. They took care of him, brought him to the hospital for his check ups, and even made a makeshift play pen for him. They updated me regularly on his wellbeing and made sure I had the peace of mind.

And not just for Chandler, they give first-class care for all the doggos. This was a message I received when there was haze in Singapore:

This tells me that this is not just a business for them. They genuinely care.

He’s simply happy

With all that I mentioned a while ago, it’s not a surprise that he loves it there.
